Our Story

How Sri Kasih Came to Be

Sri Kasih was founded in Kuala Lumpur by a small group of family law practitioners who noticed a gap — not in the availability of legal services, but in the quality of attention given to the people seeking them. Too often, families in difficult circumstances found themselves rushed through processes they didn't fully understand, handed documents written for lawyers rather than people, and left without a clear sense of what came next.

The name "Sri Kasih" reflects our founding intention. Kasih — a Malay word carrying warmth, affection, and care — anchors everything we do. It shapes how we conduct consultations, how we draft documents, and how we speak about the people and families who come to us.

Today, Sri Kasih serves families across the Klang Valley from our office on Jalan Bukit Bintang. We focus on three areas: child custody and guardianship, family mediation, and marital agreement advisory. Our approach remains consistent across all three — clear language, considered pacing, and a genuine interest in the wellbeing of the families we work with.

Our Mission

To make family legal guidance accessible, comprehensible, and considerate — so that every person who walks through our door leaves better informed than when they arrived.

Our Vision

A Malaysia where families have access to legal support that respects their time, their emotions, and their right to make informed choices without pressure.

Our Values

Patience, clarity, confidentiality, and a deep respect for the complexity of family relationships. We do not measure our success by speed or volume — we measure it by how well families understand their situation after speaking with us.

Our Expertise

Family Law in Malaysia, Handled With Consideration

Family law in Malaysia touches some of the most personal decisions a person can face. Questions about where a child will live, how parents will share responsibility, or how assets will be divided after a marriage ends do not have tidy answers. They require a legal practitioner who understands both the law and the human weight carried by the people asking the questions.

Sri Kasih was established in Kuala Lumpur with this understanding at its foundation. Our work in child custody and guardianship draws on the Law Reform (Marriage and Divorce) Act 1976 and the Guardianship of Infants Act 1961. We help parents understand the courts' approach to custody and access arrangements, and we prepare them carefully for any proceedings that may be necessary.

In family mediation, we provide a structured environment where both parties can speak openly and explore options for resolving disagreements outside of litigation. Mediation can reduce the time, cost, and emotional strain associated with contested proceedings. Our practitioners hold accreditation with the Malaysian Mediation Centre and bring a calm, balanced presence to each session.

Marital and financial agreements — including prenuptial and separation agreements — require careful legal drafting and clear communication. Sri Kasih assists clients in understanding the scope and effect of such agreements before they are signed. We believe that well-understood agreements serve families better than those signed in haste.

Across all three practice areas, Sri Kasih maintains a consistent approach: we explain the law in accessible language, we allow families the time they need to consider their options, and we do not apply pressure. Our offices at Jalan Bukit Bintang are accessible by public transport and offer private consultation rooms for sensitive discussions.
